Talk on "Phononic Frequency Combs"

by Adarsh Ganesan, University of Cambridge, UK

Abstract: Almost half-a-century old optical frequency comb has revolutionized optical frequency metrology. However, only very recently, its phononic counterpart came into existence in the numericals of Fermi-Pasta-Ulam chains (Cao et al. PRL 2014). Following the two year wait period, we have now established the theoretical to experimental leap for the Phononic Frequency Combs using a specific experimental venue of Micromechanical Resonator (Ganesan et al. PRL 2017). My talk will detail about this physical journey.
